For more than a half-century, Viking Ski Shop has catered to local skiers and snowboarders with a wide-ranging assortment of equipment, clothing, and accessories for all levels of proficiency and price points says owner Bob Olson.

If you’re looking to glide down a snowy slope or tackle the backcountry on a snowboard, then your first stop should be at Viking Ski Shops, which can outfit skiers and snowboarders with poles, parkas and anything else they need for an outdoor adventure this winter.
The shop, which has locations in Barrington and Chicago, has been in operation for 55 years. Owner Bob Olson has been in the business for 55 years.
“I started skiing and working here part-time when it first opened and I just continued along,” says Olson who, with his wife, Carol, purchased the store from the original owner. Their son Steve oversees the Barrington store.
The key to the store’s success is the wealth of products it provides and superior customer service. Viking specializes in custom boot fitting, custom footbeds, and expert tuning. It has consistently been rated as among the best ski shops in the country by SKI Magazine.
